Web TV versus Net Publishers

An online TV channel being launched by AdConion, an Internet advertising network. Competing for online video advertising revenue with Fairfax Digital and Ninemsn. According to many reports, and indeed the chief executive of AdConion, the advertising and the content will be matched to the user. This project will allow AdConion to compete with big name video sites such as YouTube for online video advertising revenues. The chief executive of AdConion hopes to make it the biggest digital TV network in the world by 2010.

Now this all sounds very good, it seems that one will be able to watch what they are interested in without actually being on that sort of website. However, does this mean that, if I am inclined to watch sports more than anything else, the only things that I will be see is sports shows? Does this mean that if I wanted to watch a comedy I would have to go elsewhere to find my fix? In theory of course this idea sounds very good, however when put into practice it is this blogger's opinion that this will not be as good as it sounds.
